Full Wig Ahead

Here is sock monkey wearing her wig. I think she looks great in it. Her shirt is a bit odd. It's really my Ugly Doll example I am using with the 4th grade boys, but I hadn't sewn it together yet and I thought it might be a cute outfit for the monkey, but I don't know if pink is her color.
Yesterday I did a massive cleaning and dusting of my bedroom. It really took all day but it looks good and there is no dust- except I swear it all was on my pillow last night. A dusty night. Hopefully I can clean the bathroom/storage wreck before vacation is over(such a sad thing...)

Okay Kelly,
this picture is for you. I am wearing my lotta dress and an apron, but not the apron that goes well with the dress. That one is at school and I am pleasantly not at school. For those of you wondering- no that isn't my room. I did have a clutter problem (before yesterday) but this is Chloe's room. (The apple does not fall far from the tree...)
Next time I will show the purses I finished
two days after Christmas. (better late than never) and if you are really lucky my fabric cabinet. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Not Fully Sewn

Holiday Greetings to everyone!
Here's a scan of some of my holiday postcards that I have sent out (umm late..) I still have one left so if you want one write me a comment and I'll send it off to you.
Poor Lorraine, Joy, and Janet, if you look at the sewing machine picture below you can see your presents- half done. My sewing machine has taken a turn for the worse and I have to take a break before trying once again to fix it. I was on a roll to mail them out today, but it is not to be.
I found this gorgeous wig for my sock monkey, I was going to take a picture of it for you guys, but I can't find it so I guess I'll have to wait until it turns up.
One of my students gifted me with this treat called haystacks. I never had them before, but wow were they good (but I am sure not good for you). I made the mistake of giving Chloe a big one because I thought they were rice krispy treats. She was in sugar heaven.

Sew, I guess I will try again at the sewing machine. Have a super holiday and make something cool.

Amazing, I actually finished something...I made this purse for Dana. I saw the fabric and it just reminded me of her. Every year she gives me a neat art related Christmas card so I wanted to make her something special this year. I hope she likes it. I bet she will be surprised.

Here is my lovely sock monkey modeling her newest outfit. I guess it is hard to see with such busy patterns but she is wearing a Kaffe Fassett ensemble of a ruffle bottomed skirt with four different fabric panels that can be converted to a sundress and an elegant purse. The t-shirt has been altered to include monkey portraits on both the front and back of the T. She sits with a large heart and two stuffed birds. Hmm maybe I should write fashion copy for my next career.
Sew (hee hee)  as you can see it has been a sewing weekend. Now it's Sunday night and I have to return to school work. In fourth grade I have a group of boys that crack me up. They have been drawing these wild looking characters for weeks so I finally sat them down and told them they needed to do something with these characters and suggested ugly dolls and claymation.  They are on a roll now to begin. I hope I can help them with my other 24 students still needing attention (some still ask questions like, "where's the paper?") but it is great to see them so excited about coming to art.
I want to make the custodian in my school a yummy and nice looking treat for always making a point to say hello to me and learn my name. Does anyone have any suggestions of something easy but yummy to make him?
I guess I better get hopping. Hope  you guys have a great week. I will, especially once Friday is over. The students are extra silly and joyful with the anticipation of Christmas.
Ciao bellas
